Celebrating Partnerships in Learning

Online booking is now open for the 7th annual LDHEN Symposium.  Please visit the ALDinHE website by clicking here.

This year's conference is a joint event organised by the LearnHigher CETL and the Learning Development in Higher Education Network (LDHEN).  It will be hosted by Nottingham Trent University on 29th, 30th, and 31st March 2010, and held in the newly-opened Nottingham Conference Centre.

The theme this year is "Celebrating Partnerships in Learning", reflecting the achievements of LearnHigher, as a collaboration between sixteen universities, and of LDHEN with its emphasis on the value of learning partnerships between students, academics, researchers and developers.

Keynote speakers:

Glynis Cousin, Director of Institute for Learning Enhancement and of Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Marcia Baxter Magolda, distinguished Professor, Educational Leadership, Miami University

Glynis and Marcia are both ardent exponents of putting students at the heart of higher education; Glynis emphasises the role of 'learning journeys', and Marcia the development of 'self authorship' by students.  In theirwork, the notion of partnership is central to their interpretation of learning development.

In addition to these exciting speakers there will be more than 40 presentations and workshops on a range of themes encompassing learning partnerships of all kinds.  Early booking is advised for this popular annual gathering - described by one of last year's participants as "...a fabulous event in every way!"
