Group Presentation: “What are the barriers to effective learning and how can they be overcome?”

Brief:

  • Your group presentation should focus on your understanding of the barriers to effective learning and possible measures to overcome these.
  • It should draw upon the personal experiences of each member in the group, containing brief evaluations of these experiences, and be supported by relevant theory.
  • Your presentation should last no longer than twenty minutes. Each student should deliver an aspect of the presentation.
  • You will be assessed according to your ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of the key issues, to express and illustrate your opinions in a clear and coherent manner and to communicate both these aspects effectively to a knowledgeable audience. The specific assessment criteria and marking scheme by which your presentation will be assessed is available in the module pack.
  • Your presentation should begin with an introduction to the topic and contain relevant examples to help illustrate points.
  • We recommend that you use some form of visual aid, PowerPoint slides, handouts etc. to support your oral delivery. Audiovisual equipment will be available for you to use – please inform us of your equipment requirements at least one week in advance of the delivery date.
