Matching activity
This activity is used at the start of a course for any level. The slides guide the tutor through the two activities. The first activity is a matching task where students match academic vocabulary to their definitions. They then use the glossary to look up the answers. The answer to keywords is missing and students use the definition on the card to paraphrase their own definition. They then do this for 4 further words. The slides give suggested answers which can be discussed as a group. It is then expected that the students will add in their own words and definitions during their course.

allow time for the discussion of definitions as students find this activity the most useful.
